Latoya Davis, 32, of Philadelphia, was found suffering a gunshot wound to the upper torso at the Wawa located at 910 MacDade Boulevard in Collington at 7:20 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, as detailed in the affidavit of probable cause shared with Daily Voice by the Delaware County District Attorney's Office.
Five minutes later EMS declared Davis dead, according to the affidavit.
"At the time of the shooting Davis was pregnant," as stated in the affidavit.
She was also already a mom, according to her uncle.
Officers at the scene found a .380 shell casings and interviewed 30-year-old, Evelena Williams, as explained in the affidavit.
Williams admitted to shooting Davis, said she had a license to carry a firearm, and the gun was in her vehicle, according to the affidavit. When they searched her vehicle a Ruger .380 semiautomatic was found.
Williams was officially arrested shortly after 9 p.m. and she has been held on homicide charges without bail, according to court documents.
She was charged with the following, according to her docket:
Criminal Homicide.
First Degree Murder Of Unborn Child.
- Third Degree Murder Of Unborn Child.
- Murder Of The First Degree.
- Murder Of The Third Degree.
- Criminal Homicide Of Unborn Child.
- Possession Instrument Of Crime With Intent.
- Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
Her preliminary hearing is scheduled before Magisterial District Judge Michael A. Burns at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
